Jalapeno and Tater Tot Cheesy Casserole

1 (32 oz) bag of tater tots

2  ( 8 oz) packages of cream cheese, softened

1 cup sour cream

2 cups mexican style shredded cheese, reserve 1/2 cup for topping

1 cup cooked bacon, crumbled, reserve 1/4 cup for topping

1/2 tsp garlic powder

4 jalapenos, 2 of them minced and 2 of them thinly sliced for topping

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Arrange tater tots in a 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 425 degrees until cooked and crispy. While tater tots are baking, in a large bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, shredded cheese, 3/4 cup of crumbled bacon, and the 2 minced jalapenos. Stirring well to combine. Remove tater tots from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Using a spatula spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the top of the tots. Top the mixture with the remaining shredded cheese, bacon and thinly sliced jalapeño. Bake at 425 degrees for 20 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
